Alright, family.

tabbyhasadollar:

I love you guys right. I really, truly, fucking do.

But when you bring up an issue that I feel shouldn’t even be put to question at all, and say that my view is completely wrong, just makes me not want to fight this urge of needing to move away from home the moment I get the opportunity to.

Tim: My english class had a debate about gay marriage today. I said I was against it, and I won.
Dad: Thank you, Tim. Marriage should be between a man and a woman. It’s not right for gays to be married.

Why why why are they so… closed-minded? I don’t understand.

Maybe it’s the countless hours my father listens to Michael Savage and other ridiculously conservative assholes every morning. Or the fact that he actually tunes into FoxNews for… get this… news.

We really should just stick to laughing at my dad calling Facebook and MySpace, myspacebook.

Just start randomly changing the channel to MSNBC and see if they notice. On another note, I’m sorry =( At least you are an awesome human being who can form their own opinions and doesn’t follow what they are told by their family or people around them.

Abandoned hospital on Ellis Island (photograph by Stephen Wilkes)
The Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital (also known as U.S. Marine Hospital Number 43) was a hospital where would-be immigrants were held and medical examined. It was the largest marine hospital in the nation. The 22 building complex has been abandoned for many years now.
Stephen Wilkes did a photo series on the abandoned hospital on Ellis Island. On his website you can read about the project, view photographs and buy his book.

An abandoned bunker in Point Bonita, California (photograph via)
Point Bonita today is part of the largest urban national park in the United States, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is located 6 miles northwest of Sausalito. In the area you can find a lighthouse, which was the last manned lighthouse on the California coast. You can also find many abandoned buildings (most of them military), one of them is this bunker.
